EU may revise the future seven-year budget plan due to the coronavirus pandemic. Ursula von der Leyen claims that the new budget will help in overcoming the crisis, therefore, cutting its costs does not seem to be a way out, but on the contrary, more significant financial strength and own resources are needed. The extra funding will be provided for such fields as:
- Regional development
- Health care
- Small companies
- Heavy borrowing
- “Reinforced” spending on research
