The strategic objectives of Horizon Europe are to drive economic growth and create more and better jobs. Horizon Europe plans on building on H2020 by tapping the innovation potential of EU member states and associated countries with more specific targeted actions funding projects for both public and private sector organizations.

Horizon Europe will have specific key focus areas for research and innovation support. Additionally Horizon Europe will focus on having a more targeted practical impact via European partnerships, missions and mutually beneficial areas of international cooperation for the benefit of society.

Horizon Europe will fund practically focused novel research and innovation projects for both public and private sector organizations on individual and collaborative based projects that align with European Commission "missions" and "European partnerships".

The funding program runs in parallel with the political life cycle of the European Commission and will run from 2021 – 2027. The first work programs for the calls will be published in November 2020.

To participate in Horizon Europe an applicant organization continues to need a PIC code (Participant Identification Code) an innovative idea or proposal, your envisaged role and what program you are planning to apply for. Proposals for Horizon Europe will continue to be submitted for evaluation by expert EC evaluators to the Funding & Tender opportunities portal also called the Single Electronic Data Interchange Area (SEDIA).

Horizon Europe will finance thousands of research and innovation projects every year up to 2027 in all thematic areas such as, climate change, transport, health, agriculture, energy efficiency the humanities and many others. The key vision is to transfer more practically applicable innovative solution to benefit society and introduce new products and services to the market.

We are targeting universities’, research centers, SMEs, larger companies, public bodies and foundations inside the European Union and all over the world. Participation in Horizon Europe is open to every type of organization inside the EU but is also more open than before for organizations from non - EU countries under the European Commission’s "Open to the World" policy.
