The former ERC President, nanomedicine expert Mauro Ferrari (in the centre) stepped down exactly one month ago. Now, six of Europe’s top research chiefs are demanding that more attention is paid to the election process of the next President of the European Commission’s research funding agency. The previous Commission’s selection procedure has been described as “inadequate” – according to one of the research chiefs.
