Morning Training Sessions (5 Days – In-Depth Training on EU Grant Management)
Designed for researchers, finance professionals, EU pre-award & post-award offices, project coordinators, universities, research institutions, industry partners, SMEs, NGOs and policymakers, this comprehensive 5-day program covers the full lifecycle of an EU-funded project—from proposal preparation to project closure.
- Days 1-3: Mastering the application process for Research and Innovation Actions (RIA), Innovation Actions (IA) and Coordination and Support Actions (CSA).
- Days 4-5: Navigating the most challenging administrative and financial aspects of EU direct grants, ensuring compliance and best practices.
This session is ideal for both coordinators and partners preparing proposals or managing projects under Horizon Europe’s Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness framework.
Afternoon Sessions – Exclusive Site Visits, Workshops & Expert Consultations
Each afternoon provides unique hands-on experiences, expert insights and networking opportunities:

- Tuesday: Rannis – The Icelandic Centre for Research (NCP for Iceland) – Learn about collaboration opportunities Iceland offers to Horizon Europe consortia.
- Wednesday: Tailored Workshops & Consultancy – Dedicated pre-award and post-award sessions with EFMC’s senior experts. Get personalized advice for your specific project needs.
- Thursday: University of Iceland – Presentation of its five faculties and insights into their post-award service implementation.
- Friday: Hot Springs Experience in Whale Fjord – Unwind and network while soaking in Iceland’s natural geothermal waters at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.
