The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the tourism industry was evaluated by the European Commission last week. Eduardo Santander, Executive Director of the European Tourism Commission, said the EU’s tourism economics will need at least two years to return to the level of 2019.
Tourist arrivals may drop to 39% this year in EU countries due to pandemic. According to Santander, in Italy the consequences will be even worse – 49% of travelers will refuse to travel to this country.
